My perspective of this scripture has been opened wide in the past few months. Having been graced to travel to many nations on missions assignments, I have come to a startling conclusion. I may be more blessed in the field than I am in the City. Oh, don't get me wrong, there are the advantages of home; many of our loved ones, close friends, and spiritual comrades are often there. But there is a leaning upon and a lifting of the Lord that I experience when I am in the mission field... a manifest Grace and Glory... a magnificent strength... One that blurs the mundane obstacles of home, the familiar woes of City life...

There is a pure oxygen of Heaven, and I breathe easier in the field... The Mission Field. The field of exploration and creativity, hearing the strategies of Heaven for the people groups that we are sent to. Oh, that I could harness the Blessing of the Field. THE MISSION FIELD... while I am at home in the City!

What are some of the Blessings in the Field:

Supernatural Healing: I never feel better than when I am in the field. On our most recent trip, the Grace of Healing showed up again, that familiar friend has never let me down. It is the outworking of a prophetic song once received by my wife in a dream "Glory healeth thee, Glory healeth thee, Glory healeth thee in every nation..."... When I am in the field, I feel like I am 17 again... Lord, teach me how to Hold onto this Grace. Could it be that a part of our prophetic destiny is tied into our "Going into all the world"... maybe this is a key to the blessing in the field.

Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. Deuteronomy 28:6

Supernatural Rest: The City, for me represents home... In part, Home represents the common stressors of life. People, places and things... expectations and responsibilities... and If you are known in the realm of the spirit...There will be a few principalities waiting for you at the spiritual customs port... No worries, Your passport is the Blood of Jesus. The field on the other hand may have its challenges, but they are met with a Glorious wave of Grace... That Going Grace... That sending Glory... It was so easy to enter into his rest during our most recent trip to North Central Nigeria... a place noted for a history of great unrest and distress... How could this be? Blessed shalt thou be in the field. It's that extra Grace... That multiplied Grace to complete the assignment... That is Grace to rise above and beyond that which can be accomplished by might and by power. That is Grace to be lifted into a higher dimension of the heavenly gift for the purposes of God to be wrought through our lives. For me, the field offers many blessings that cannot be attained in the city...Unless of course, the city is your field. If it is, you will experience a lifting whenever you are moved out into the harvest. The mission field will present for some, an eye in the storm...The greatest peace, in your place of least social comfort.

Supernatural Love: While the City offers the same opportunity to love and be loved, the field offers this without familiarity or partiality... You will not know anyone after the flesh... Cultures and customs will be different, the world is wide open. The Lord is waiting to unfold His love through your heart to the nations. This is perhaps the greatest blessing of them all... to love; to become an ambassador of Christ's love to the poor and the rich alike. Love that is stretched and increased to meet the receiver at their point of need. And the needs are many! Not our love, but His... You will surely discover new measures of this inexhaustible substance. Blessed shalt thou be in the field... THE MISSION FIELD
